Ingredients for making guava dessert with condensed milk:

For dessert:

 1 box of sour cream

 1 can of condensed milk

2 cups of guava pulp or guava juice concentrate

 250 grams of cream cheese

1 cup of sugar (160 grams)

 5 eggs

For the caramel:

1 cup of sugar (160 grams)

 4 tablespoons of water

How to make Guava Dessert with Condensed Milk:

Peel the guavas and blend the pulp in a blender until obtaining 2 cups of pulp. If you don't want to use the guava fruit, you can measure 2 cups of concentrated juice.

Pass the pulp through a strainer to filter the seeds and pieces.

Then beat the cream until creamy. Add the remaining ingredients (condensed milk, guava, cream cheese, sugar and eggs) and beat until well combined. This is the guava dessert mix, set aside to prepare the caramel.

Prepare the caramel directly in the pan in which you are going to cook the dessert - we recommend using a stainless steel pan. Put the sugar and water in it and cook on high heat until the sugar melts and turns caramel into a brown caramel, as in the photo. Then turn off the heat and spread the caramel all over the pan.

Place the guava dessert mixture into the caramel pan and fit the pan into a larger pan, with hot water inside to approximately 3/4 of its capacity. Cover both pans and cook in a double boiler on the stove for 1 hour or until you pass the toothpick test.

After cooking, turn off the heat and wait for the dessert to cool completely. Keep in the fridge until the next day or at least 8 hours and carefully unmold.
